Janelle Shaw
As the owner and lead curator, Janelle’s first job in the industry was working for Brides-On-Location and Bride’s Magazine. She worked at venues such as the Palace of Auburn Hills, The Ritz Carlton and Hyatt Regency hotel. She was fortunate to receive hands on experience in the event industry at a young age. Janelle’s own wedding veil was a gorgeous Vera Wang gifted to her after one of the fashion shows! It was arguably one of the most beautiful veils, before Vera’s big rise to fame. it was a world she grew up in and loved. In her words, “Events and parties can be an enchanting fantasy come true, and there’s nothing better than creating that kind of joy for others”. After years of doing her own events, others had begun to ask her if she could style theirs. Now, after much anticipation, the dream of having her own event company has turned into a reality. Janelle is married to her husband of 6 years, a mom of three girls, and we are pretty sure she does décor in her dreams. She loves traveling, hiking, driving down country roads with the windows down and music up, as well as spending time with family and loves to hang out by a good bonfire. She is passionate about making the most beautiful memories for her clients and will work tirelessly for them-each and every time.
April L'Ecuyer
Once studying to be a radio personality, April is a riot and the best addition to any party. She is always the hardest worker in the room, the engineer, the do-gooder. She has studied business, human resources and excelled in marketing and networking. April has a fantastic network of people and connections with the best of the best. She’s done wardrobe and production and set work with some of the industry’s biggest talent sources. With her outstanding level of practicality and charisma, she is our Vendor Specialist. She knows who to call and when to call them. April is a Michigan native and in her spare time she loves to hang with family and friends and coach baseball for her three boys. Her and her husband love to camp, hike, garden, and take their camper wherever it can go! When it comes to party planning, corporate events and anything that requires a timeline of tasks to be done, there simply is no one better to have by your side.
Christy Oberg-Mouton
Yet another beautifully creative mind we are blessed to have on our team! Christy is our Style and Design Curator, and she will find the best presentations before they become a trend! She is the quiet and calm presence on the team, and we love the balance she brings. She is precise, articulate, detail-oriented and she is all about making sure our clients get exactly what they envision. Christy is a northwestern Chicago native and of course, a pizza and hot dog connoisseur. She also spent a lot of her upbringing on a horse farm in Kentucky. She brings the style and class of the city with the sweetness of a southern bell. She is also a mom of two boys, and a Guitar Hero guru! She loves painting, reading, photography, music, and snuggling up with her Corgi Stella and a good tv show. We are so grateful she is here on this journey with us!
Tiffany Horton
Tiff is our office guru. Not only does she have her degree in business, but one in psychology, too. She puts all that to work to make our company run like a well-oiled machine. Born and raised in rural Ohio, Tiff grew up on a large family cattle farm. She knows the ins and outs of what it means to be hard-working, tough, patient and resilient. She has been happily married for ten years and they have four children together. She is a crochet master, loves all things DIY. we are pretty sure she’s been to every craft show this side of the Mississippi. She enjoys baking, orchestras and has a secret love for grunge music, specifically Avril Lavigne. Tiff’s hidden talent is music. She can play piano, the oboe, clarinet, and many other instruments. She even landed a scholarship for music and once considered joining the Navy orchestra! She is one of those brilliantly creative minds who can figure out how to do just about anything. If we don’t have it or we can’t find it, Tiff will figure out how we can make it. She’s one of the most talented and resourceful people we know and with her level of versatility, we are so blessed to have her on the team!
Anna Pipitone
Anna is everything you would want your Creative Coordinator to be. She is thoughtful, ingeniously resourceful, attentive and diligent. Anna is Janelle’s eldest daughter, and she has grown up under the realm of all things artistic. She can DIY anything and she brings wonderful energy and charisma to the company. She has been working side by side with Janelle for the last 2 years to make sure East + Elle begins with the best foot forward. Anna is also a full-time student at Kent State University. She loves traveling, hiking, art, photography, makeup, hanging out with her friends and boyfriend. she is very passionate about health and fitness and we are here for it! she has so many natural talents, it’s hard to list them all. She can even sing (think Adele!) but she’s a bit shy about that! We are hoping one day we can get her to agree to some midnight karaoke!
Cara Pipitone
Miss Cara is our Creative Media Assistant, company firecracker, socialite rockstar and Janelle’s middle child. TikTok, Instagram, and Snapchat are her specialties, and she knows just what to do in order to make sure we are always “in the know”. Her perspective with multimedia makes her a great asset to our team. Cara loves animals, the outdoors, and she’s also a seasoned track athlete. She loves running, working out, fishing with her boyfriend and hanging with friends. Cara is our go-getter! Her energy is infectious; she’s always smiling and always the first to offer a helping hand. We love having her and her uncanny ability to make the most mundane task so much fun at East + Elle!
